About The Position

Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking an Analytical scientist Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. Entegris, Inc. is a global leader in contamination control, specialty material handling and advanced process materials for the semi-conductor industry. We seek a motivated and talented engineering candidate to work with the Metrology team within the company’s Advanced Purity Solution (APS). The Metrology team at Entegris is tasked with providing reliable measurements to support internal R&D and external customers. Often these measurement requests require novel techniques in order to gain useful information and address challenges. This co-op position will focus on developing new retention methods necessary for evaluating new and existing filtration technologies to benefit semiconductor manufacturing.

Requirements

  • The candidate should be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • The candidate should have a basic understanding of the scientific process and data analysis.
  • The candidate should be familiar with using Microsoft Excel to review collected data and draw sound conclusions.
  • The candidate should have willingness to learn.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry, nanoparticles, membrane-based separations, polymer, and/or ICP-MS is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new retention methods to evaluate current and next-generation products
  • Study nanoparticle-membrane interaction mechanisms using analytical methods like fluorescence spectrophotometry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Gel permeation chromatography (GPC).
  • Collect, interpret, and review experimental data regularly with the analytical team.
  • Draw sound scientific conclusions based on data analysis.
  • Use critical thinking and problem solving to determine project outlooks
