About The Position

As a Senior Analytical Scientist, you will lead analytical initiatives, overseeing research experiments, ensuring data integrity, and providing analytical support for new solutions, raw material qualifications, and manufacturing processes. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Application and development, Customized solutions US/CAN

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in chemistry or food science (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience, or PhD with 1–3 years of experience.
  • Strong background in analytical science, with the ability to develop testing methods and optimize systems to meet customer needs.
  • Hands-on experience in analytical laboratories, including operations of HPLC, GC, FTIR/NIR, and UV-Vis instrumentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively across functional lines and organizational levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: thrive in collaborative environments and contribute to team-based solutions.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and design of experiments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and knowledge in hydrocolloids and customized solutions is preferred.
  • Understanding of rheology with experience with particle size analyzers, rheometers, texture analyzers, and RVA is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated intellectual leadership through staying current with industry trends and academic developments in relevant technical areas.

Responsibilities

  • Build analytical capability to support microdosed customized solutions and hydrocolloid ingredients.
  • Interpret and report analytical data to support formulation development, stability studies, and product specification/release.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to support fast-track commercialization projects by developing new testing methods and specification.
  • Develop, validate, and execute analytical testing methods for new systems and perform routine and non-routine testing using techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and wet chemistry.
  • Lead the raw material qualification for hydrocolloids and customized solutions.
  • Provide support for contract manufacturing and testing facilities.
  • Identify and address capability gaps in knowledge, equipment, and facilities; work with management to resolve these gaps.
  • Author and review technical documents including method validation protocols, reports, specifications, and SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems promptly to prevent project delays.
  • Supervise lab technicians, ensuring timely execution and completion of assigned projects.
  • Maintain and calibrate all analytical equipment, coordinate with external vendors for repairs, quotes, installation, and service contracts.
  • Work independently on long-term project assignments, ensuring timely completion.
  • Ensure and maintain a safe, accident-free laboratory environment.
