About The Position

Our site in Round Rock, Texas is seeking an Analytical Quality Engineering Co-Op to join our MS Analytical Quality team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to run from January through June. In this role, you will support the Lab Harmonization Initiative by evaluating current quality-system practices across MS analytical laboratories and identifying opportunities to improve standardization, cross-site visibility, and data-driven review workflows. The work will focus on documentation structure, naming conventions, MSA refresh practices, LTS programs, internal audit practices, KPI tracking, and opportunities to apply AI-enabled tools to streamline validation or data review activities.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in basic chemistry, analytical chemistry, statistics, data analysis, quality systems, process improvement, or technical documentation.
  • Basic statistical analysis and interpretation of data; coursework experience is acceptable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work through large sets of documents or data and identify patterns.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, document findings, and work with multiple teams across sites.
  • No prior real-world quality-system experience required; willingness to learn analytical quality processes and apply structured problem-solving is most important.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in Power BI, AI tools, LIMS, document management systems, or workflow automation is a plus.
  • Graduation dates of 2027 or 2028

Responsibilities

  • Assess current naming conventions used for work instructions, MSA refreshes, validation documents, and related quality records across MS sites.
  • Identify inconsistencies, duplication, and opportunities for alignment across documentation, LTS, internal audit, and KPI tracking practices.
  • Develop a proposed documentation standardization framework with examples, recommended naming rules, and implementation considerations.
  • Assess internal auditing practices across MS sites and identify opportunities to standardize audit documentation, tracking, and reporting approaches.
  • Assess LTS programs and associated documentation practices across MS sites and identify opportunities for standardization.
  • Evaluate potential AI-assisted workflow opportunities, such as data review and validation workflows.
  • Partner with analytical quality, laboratory, MQE, and cross-site stakeholders to gather inputs and translate findings into clear recommendations.
