In the role of Analytical Microbiological Specialist working in Albany, GA you will be part of the Quality Department in Brewery Operations. You will perform a variety of basic microbiological or chemical and physical analyses on products, raw materials, in-process materials per MillerCoors quality system requirements. This position reports to the Unit Manager - Quality Process Lab and works closely with Brewing & Packaging Operational Teams.

Requirements

  • You are able to work rotational shifts (rotate between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift every 3-4 months) and some weekends
  • Possess a proven track record of achievement in a high speed, high volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrable evidence of driving World Class Supply Initiatives to deliver on challenging objectives
  • You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field of study or extensive micro laboratory/brewing experience (Preferred degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cereal Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Agronomy, and Chemical Engineering).
  • You have at least 2 years’ experience in quality related processes
  • You have knowledge of the principles and techniques of microbiology and chemistry
  • You exhibit knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrument maintenance, calibration and trouble shooting
  • You have working knowledge of statistical methods and computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs, interprets and evaluates chemical and microbiological analyses
  • Develops, trends and summarizes analytical and microbiological information
  • Monitors, calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment and ensures appropriate levels of quality supplies
  • Facilitates quality improvement and problem solving
