Analytical Chemistry Quality Cooridinator
About The Position
The Analytical Chemistry Quality Coordinator / Analyst manages quality aspects of Global Skin Care and Cleansing and regional Hair, Deo and Skin category stability and expiration studies. When needed, the role also performs OTC active analysis using chromatography, titration and spectroscopy. The position coordinates the Stability OTC quality system and ensures its documentation, instrumentation and analytical procedures are compliant. It conducts monthly quality audits covering SOPs, staff training records, instrument calibrations and laboratory books, and reviews and releases analytical data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The role troubleshoots stability testing procedures, develops analytical methods for new OTC product actives, leads method validation and transfers validated methods to manufacturing-site quality control laboratories. Technical documentation, communication and working knowledge of analytical methodology are central to the role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field, with Chemistry preferred, and 5+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of FDA, HC and ICH guidelines.
- Experience working in a Quality Control laboratory, ideally in personal care or pharmaceuticals.
- Working knowledge of LIMS databases and use of Power BI or Excel spreadsheets to trend and track quality data, including statistical evaluation.
- Analytical skills in HPLC, preferably with UV, RI or ELSD detection, and GC.
- Experience with sample preparation and cleanup techniques such as SPE, SPME and liquid-liquid extraction.
- Familiarity with titration and spectroscopic techniques.
Nice To Haves
- Chemistry degree.
- Experience with LabVantage LIMS.
- Familiarity with statistical software such as JMP or SPSS, programming languages such as Python, R or Matlab, and data dashboards such as Power BI.
- Working knowledge of chromatographic data systems such as ChemStation OpenLab or Empower.
- Knowledge of maintenance and calibration functions for analytical equipment.
- Experience analyzing cosmetics or personal care products.
- Experience with a pharmaceutical background.
