About The Position
This is a 50% appointment for the Fall 2026 semester for an Analytical Chemistry Lecturer. The role involves teaching Chem 327 or Chem 329 (Fundamentals of Analytical Science). Duties include preparing course materials, presenting lectures, preparing and grading exams and homework, and holding office hours. The position is within the College of Letters & Science, Department of Chemistry.
Requirements
- Previous experience teaching Chemistry is required.
- PhD in Chemistry or related fields is required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience teaching chemistry at the college/university level is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- Preparing course materials
- Presenting lectures
- Preparing, administering, and grading exams and homework
- Holding office hours
- Other related duties
