About The Position

Capsum, a contract manufacturer in the cosmetics industry, designs and sustainably manufactures beauty products. The Analytical Chemist develops and transfers analytical methods and analyzes bulk products, finished goods, and raw materials to confirm they meet defined specifications and standards. This is a full-time role based in Del Valle (Austin), Texas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Approximately 2–3 years of relevant quality control experience in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with safety and quality guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Empower software.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of samples for incoming raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
• Perform daily standardizations and equipment performance checks.
• Maintain records and data associated with testing.
• Order, store, use, and dispose of chemicals.
• Create, revise, and review SOPs, test methods, forms, protocols, reports, and other documents related to compliant product testing.
• Conduct method development, validation, verification, and transfer activities according to written protocols.
• Use analytical instrumentation and techniques including FTIR, UPLC/HPLC, wet chemistry, and UV/VIS.
• Troubleshoot instruments and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Perform all activities in compliance with GLP/cGMP requirements.
