We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our environmental laboratory in Round Rock, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Chemist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment and is passionate about hands-on analytical instrumentation, complex problem-solving, and delivering high-quality data that directly supports environmental compliance, public safety, and critical regulatory decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline
- 2+ years of professional analytical laboratory experience in a regulated environment
- Proven hands-on experience operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation, including ICP-MS, GC-MS, GC, HPLC, and IC
- Demonstrated experience with analytical method development, optimization, validation, verification, and implementation
- Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems, including QA/QC, data review, documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis on environmental and quality control samples in accordance with EPA methods and laboratory procedures
- Prepare, digest, and process samples using approved analytical methods, SOPs, and regulatory protocols
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instrumentation
- Review, interpret, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS
- Perform QA/QC checks and identify instrument drift, matrix interferences, analytical discrepancies, or sample anomalies requiring corrective action
- Support method development, transfer, verification, optimization, and troubleshooting activities
- Assist with CAPA investigations, SOP updates, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and collaborate with team members to meet turnaround times and productivity goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
