About The Position

The Analytical Chemist will provide analytical laboratory support for the Bunge Creative Solutions Center. While working in the analytical laboratory, the Analytical Chemist will safely provide the necessary resources for timely, efficient, and accurate results and will establish and implement appropriate methods for the innovation and development of new products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with 2-5 years analytical laboratory experience or Master of Science degree in related field
  • In depth knowledge of key analytical instrumentation
  • Ability to independently manage own work
  • Demonstrate ability to work safely in a laboratory setting and to promote safe work practices in others
  • Ability to work collaboratively on teams with both internal and external employees and customers
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office and other technical software applications
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of samples utilizing various industry standard and internal methods
  • Utilize instruments key to BCSC Analytical lab such as GC, HPLC, Mass Spec, FTIR, FTNIR, DSC, Rheometer and Microscope
  • Develop and plan new methods based on needs of research and innovation teams using expert knowledge in analytical chemistry
  • Participate in small projects of some complexity and solve non-routine problems
  • Maintain complete records of work performed in analytical lab and provide reports of such work
  • Data entry of analysis and understanding method variability
  • Work cross-functionally with others in research, development, and innovation
  • Equipment SPC, troubleshooting, checks, and calibration
  • Promote safety by driving a zero-incident culture and ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Be an effective safety leader engaging in Bunge safety discussions and initiatives.
  • Observe safe and proper work habits to include wearing necessary PPE

  • Perform other duties as assigned and recognize that priorities can shift to adjust to demands of other departments for overall benefit of organization
