Analytical Chemist (R&D)
About The Position
AOC is the leading global supplier of specialty resins, gel coats, colorants and additives which enable customers to create robust, durable, and versatile products and components. As part of the R&D team, the Analytical Chemist will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments to analyze and evaluate chemical samples. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for chemistry, a keen eye for detail, and a strong academic background in the field. To be successful in this role, the Analytical Chemist must have an in-depth understanding of analytical chemistry techniques, advanced knowledge of laboratory instruments, and the ability to interpret and analyze data; as well as strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from a nationally or regionally accredited institution
- 1+ year of relevant, hands-on analytical laboratory experience, through academic research, internships, and/or industrial roles
- Working knowledge of HPLC, LC-MS, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, ICP-OES, and wet chemistry techniques
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office and computer systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think critically and make sound decisions; Must be able to troubleshoot and investigate work
- Must have strong organization, project management, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Perform GC, HPLC, and ICP analyses
- Maintain laboratory instruments and workspaces in accordance with quality and safety guidelines
- Perform instrument calibrations and routine troubleshooting
- Analyze experimental data, prepare clear reports and findings for multiple teams
- Maintain accurate lab records and ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures
- Other duties as assigned
