Analytical Chemist - Weekend shift (Friday through Sunday)

This position works a weekend shift (Friday through Sunday) and offers the benefit of working 36 hours while being paid for 40.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BS in chemistry/biology/engineering
- 2+ years of experience with validations, samples and testing on productions
- Data analysis and report writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice To Haves
- Utilize the GC, IR, HPLC, as well as other instrumentation, on a daily basis
- Help develop new test methodologies
Responsibilities
- Test all raw materials according to established protocols; notifying appropriate parties when tests do not meet required specifications
- Test all in-process batches according to established protocols; notifying appropriate parties when tests do not meet required specifications
- Assist in providing recommendations to salvage in-process batches that do not meet specifications
- Work to continually improve testing methodologies and documentation, ensuring the most appropriate and thorough methods are applied
- Utilize required instrumentation to complete required tasks
- Perform periodic calibration of instrumentations (as trained and required) to ensure the most accurate readings
- Collaborate with other departments to find solutions to problems
- Performs other duties as assigned
