We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to support trace metals analysis in our environmental laboratory located in Kilgore, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Chemist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment and is passionate about hands-on analytical instrumentation, complex problem-solving, and delivering high-quality data that directly supports environmental compliance, public safety, and critical regulatory decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline
  • 2–3 years of hands-on laboratory experience performing trace metals analysis using EPA methods and standard laboratory procedures, including support of method development, transfer, and verification
  • Proven experience operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing ICP, ICP-OES, and/or ICP-MS instrumentation within a regulated laboratory environment
  • Strong analytical skills with experience performing complex data interpretation, data validation, QA/QC review, and root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of CAPA processes, audit readiness practices, and regulated laboratory quality systems
  • Proficiency with LIMS systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Perform trace metals analysis on environmental and quality control samples using ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS instrumentation in accordance with EPA methods and laboratory procedures
  • Prepare, digest, and process samples using approved analytical methods, SOPs, and regulatory protocols
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable performance
  • Review, interpret, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS while ensuring data integrity, traceability, and regulatory compliance
  • Perform QA/QC checks and identify instrument drift, matrix interferences, analytical discrepancies, or sample anomalies requiring corrective action
  • Support method development, transfer, verification, optimization, and troubleshooting activities within a regulated laboratory environment
  • Assist with CAPA investigations, SOP updates, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and collaborate with team members to meet turnaround times and productivity goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
