Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3+ years of experience in laboratory operations, lab systems, or similar roles.
  • Experience working with LIMS or other laboratory systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable supporting both bench work and operational responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading or supporting system implementations or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, ICP-MS, LC-MS, or FTIR.
  • Experience in regulated laboratory environments (CLIA, CAP, ISO).
  • Familiarity with eQMS, inventory systems, dashboards, or lab data tracking tools.
  • Experience with workflow mapping, user acceptance testing, or lab system optimization.
  • Background in inventory management, waste management, calibration tracking, or lab documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing activities as trained and qualified.
  • Rotate into laboratory workflows to provide bench coverage as needed.
  • Assist with sample preparation, testing coordination, data entry, documentation, and follow-up review.
  • Support daily laboratory readiness, including supplies, equipment status, and workspace organization.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support ordering, supply tracking, inventory organization, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels, reagent tracking, and supply availability.
  • Assist with waste management activities, including documentation, labeling, and compliance follow-up.
  • Support cross-training schedules, workflow coordination, and action-item follow-up.
  • Identify workflow gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Communicate operational issues, delays, and improvement opportunities to laboratory leadership.
  • Support Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) implementation and ongoing optimization.
  • Assist with documentation of workflows, sample flow, chain of custody, reporting needs, and QA checkpoints.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing, issue tracking, and go-live readiness activities.
  • Serve as a developing LIMS super-user and support internal training efforts.
  • Gather user feedback and contribute to continuous system and workflow improvements.
