Reporting to the AVP & Actuary, Capital & Corporate Modelling, the candidate assumes corporate duties in order to meet the departmental objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial or in mathematics.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Minimum of five exams of the Society of Actuaries.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in computer science & software.
  • Experience working independently and in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration is essential.
  • Ability to work within changing priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Sense of organization and attention to details.
  • Bilingual French/English (oral and written) is required given the need to communicate orally and in writing with predominantly English-speaking project stakeholders based outside of Québec.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the reinsurance industry, an asset.
  • Knowledge of the AXIS software, an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Produce embedded value projections in order to analyze the profitability of RGA Canada's business and assist in the preparation of results to the senior management.
  • Produce Principal-Based Economic Capital and other stress scenarios projections in order to evaluate the overall allocation of capital through RGA Inc. taking into account the various risks that the organization faces and the diversification of these risks.
  • Participate in the development of valuation assumptions for all line of business for LDTI and IFRS 17 and their documentation.
  • Produce valuation assumptions changes impact for LDTI and IFRS 17.
  • Assist in the preparation of the actuarial reports (Appointed Actuary Report, A4 report and ORSA report).
  • Support the Risk management team to monitor the Risk Limits.
  • Participate in the internal audit of new business embedded value produced by the Pricing department.
  • Assist with additional requests and other teams as needed.
