About The Position

This position is based in our Philadelphia, PA office and may work a hybrid work arrangement; travel to client sites may be required on occasion. The Analyst or Senior Analyst will support our Structured Products Group, assisting with research, analysis, and execution of investment strategies for municipal bond proceeds and marketing / RFP support. Successful candidates will be expected to be nimble in a fast-paced environment in which they are given significant responsibility working across a wide range of clients and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university (minimum GPA of 3.5 preferred).
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and serving client needs ahead of your own.
  • Ability to be productive both independently and in a team environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a flexible schedule to accommodate a demanding work environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in the capital markets with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • MSRB Series 50 certification or ability to obtain certification within approximately four months of hire with assistance from PFM.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Expertise with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Review bond documents for permitted investments, valuation methodologies, flows of funds, and other factors that drive investment analysis and recommendations.
  • Build the documentation necessary for complex financial transactions including bidding specifications and/or term sheets, bidding agent certificates, pricing analysis reports, and other work products required by our clients and their bond/tax counsel.
  • Assist with the development of contracts, invoices, and business analytics.
  • Proficiently use DBC PortOpt® software for a broad range of municipal bond structures and bond proceeds investment strategies.
  • Create and manage Excel spreadsheets and models for analyzing investment alternatives and presenting various scenarios.
  • Use Excel, visual basic & macros to optimize modeling and quantitative analysis in an efficient manner.
  • Support client marketing and proposal efforts through the development of analysis and corresponding presentation materials.
  • Organize, prioritize, and schedule work for each client project and/or financing transaction.
  • Work seamlessly with team members who travel frequently, have varying levels of in-office presence, and may be based in different offices.
  • Coordinate information flow between staff, clients, and PFM project managers throughout the country.
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner and communicate assignment progress with internal staff on a regular basis.
