About The Position

The Skoll Foundation is hiring an Analyst based in Washington, D.C. This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, including Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday required on-site in the Washington, D.C. office. Requirements

Demonstrated experience in impact evaluation, data analysis, strong investigative skills, and careful attention to detail are necessary in this role.
Experience sourcing grant partners, assessing the impact of their work, and an overall orientation to learning that improves the team’s practices is essential to the Analyst role.
Pragmatic, flexible work style, with the willingness to jump from research to project management, from supporting a meeting to presenting key findings.
Nimble generalist with the intellectual capacity and motivation to quickly grasp Skoll’s interconnected focus areas.
Collaborative, resourceful, and hands-on, and driven to work in a lean, results-oriented environment with a high level of integrity, humility, and discretion.
Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are imperative.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Ability to travel globally and internationally up to 25%, including extended onsite time at the Skoll World Forum.
Able to work onsite three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, in Washington, DC.
Locational proximity of fifty miles or closer to the Washington, DC office is required for consideration.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated experience researching, collecting, and analyzing information across multiple sectors and industries.
Must be able to quickly learn and consistently utilize software tools like Salesforce, Asana, and Microsoft 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Time living and working in other countries, especially in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, or outside of one’s community of origin is preferred.
A background including experience in a grant-funded organization or with a funder or collaborative funding partnership, is advantageous.
Enthusiastic and flexible collaborator with humility, a positive demeanor, and exceptional service orientation.

Responsibilities

Working closely with strategic priority leadership, apply Skoll's investment framework to scope, source, select and learn from the Foundation’s investments.
Support sourcing efforts for a pipeline of organizations that demonstrate social innovation and contribute to the desired systems outcomes the Foundation seeks.
As directed by/in partnership with senior colleagues, conduct in-depth research on investment opportunities, including desk research, interviews with external stakeholders, and document evaluation.
Communicate balanced analysis of investment opportunities and present recommendations to internal stakeholders for consideration.
In partnership with senior colleagues, manage aspects of partnerships with Skoll Awardees and/or other partners.
Contribute to team processes for monitoring progress and impact of active investments.
Design, build, and manage workflow of Portfolio & Investments team program areas, including processes for how we source, select, and learn from our investments in different program areas.
Evaluate data and distill key takeaways on program performance to help drive decision making based on findings.
Manage complex, long-term projects and transparently track progress against key milestones, with the agility to shift milestones as needed.
Maintain team norms and processes for using in-house knowledge management tools like Salesforce, Microsoft 360, and Asana.
Other duties as assigned.
