This role involves assessing the credit risk and financial strength of counterparts. The analyst will perform credit analysis of both quantitative and qualitative risk factors in the rating methodology on Asset Backed Structured Finance (e.g., warehouse financing), Real Estate Corporate (e.g., REIT financing), and Commercial Real Estate (CRE mortgage financing). The position also includes performing counterparty reviews, recommending appropriate internal and regulatory risk ratings, and proactively monitoring counterparties and industry subsectors. The analyst will report relevant information and its impact to senior management, develop a thorough understanding of rating methodology, counterparty financial disclosures, and transaction structure/type, and identify and escalate notable industry and transaction specific performance trends. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the performance of counterparties in the portfolio, including adherence to covenants and analyzing performance relative to budget and/or underwriting expectations. The analyst will also assist senior team members in various projects such as regulatory initiatives, methodology uplift, internal and external audits/exams, and ongoing monitoring.
