About The Position

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • Experience with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting.
  • Familiarity with coding languages such as SQL or Python.
  • Ability to communicate complex finance information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability and interest to work with a variety of data integration technologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and the ability to communicate effectively and influence senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical infrastructure reporting, tracking machine deployments, depreciation, useful life, and fleet utilization.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly variance commentary, partnering with FP&A and operational teams to evaluate business drivers and performance trends.
  • Design and run scenario models to support long-range planning, capital allocation, and executive-level decision-making.
  • Oversee the suite of advanced modeling tools, managing feature roadmaps and bug fixes to ensure end-to-end data completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with FinEng and FP&A to align modeling assumptions, integrate data pipelines, and develop scalable, automated reporting solutions.
