Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years' experience with tax reconciliation, indirect tax compliance, reconciliation, or financial analyst experience
  • Knowledge of Canadian & USA corporate tax
  • Strong research skills
  • Able to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated focus on process improvement and attention to details
  • Requirement to follow business hours of 9AM - 5:30PM EST (regardless of location).
  • Able to work extended hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience with SAP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and remittance of Canadian sales tax and U.S. sales and use tax returns
  • Preparation of estimated tax payment calculations
  • Reconciliation of tax accounts
  • Research and respond to internal sales tax related questions
  • Draft response letters to sales tax notices and other correspondence
  • Preparation and development of tax processes
  • Maintain business license registration; report and remit business license, property tax and recycling fees
  • Assist with Canadian and U.S. sales tax audits
  • Assist Financial Reporting group with month-end and quarter-end reporting responsibilities
  • Prepare variance analysis on assigned SG&A accounts
  • Amend tax returns/prepare sales tax refund claims
  • Ad hoc projects as required
