About The Position

This is a full-time, permanent role located at the Regina Commercial Claims Centre, eligible for hybrid work after training. The Analyst is responsible for data analysis related to national auto damage appraisal and salvage programs, providing technical, data analytical, and operational support for Salvage, Appraisals, and Technical Research Services. The role involves conducting analysis, developing reports, identifying risks, and supporting various programs and stakeholders within the claims and salvage operations.

Requirements

  • Advanced skill in data analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, validation, and reporting.
  • Advanced skill in the use of data analytical tools/software/programs including, but not limited to, PowerBI.
  • Advanced knowledge of SGI’s body shops accreditation program, performance management process, and image and audit practices.
  • Proficient skill in SGI’s damage estimating and shop communication platform (e.g., ePay site, WorkCenter/Mitchell Cloud Estimating/Mitchell Cloud Glass, Progi, Entegral).
  • Proficient skill in the SGI Salvage parts and whole vehicle sales applications, including Car-Part.com CheckMate/BidMate software, Insurance Auto Auctions Vision/online bid site applications.
  • Proficient knowledge of SGI’s appraisals/salvage policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Proficient knowledge of the relationship between SGI and its business partners (i.e., body shops, industry associations, industry partners, Canadian crown corporations, recyclers).
  • Four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study, such as Business or Mathematics and Applied Sciences, or defined equivalency.
  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in the data analytics field.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts analysis and develops reporting on various elements of the appraisal/salvage programs.
  • Prepares ad hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Analyzes data to proactively identify, research, assess, and recommend improvements to business policy and processes.
  • Assists in the analysis, research, design, and documentation of program enhancements based on changing business needs.
  • Executes on department and business analytical reporting, as well as investigates data needs and concerns and prepares the required recommendations/proposals for Appraisal and Salvage operations.
  • Analyzes claim data and identifies risk criteria to develop the monthly audit packages in order to provide oversight for Appraisal and Salvage Operations.
  • Aids the leadership team with reporting and data analytics by leveraging the use of the Corporate Business Intelligence applications, auto claims application reporting, salvage yard management software, whole vehicle sales data, staff and partner scheduling data and estimatics and total loss software.
  • Assists in validating reports and data extracts to ensure correctness and completeness before delivery to end users.
  • Evaluates data quality, reports any issues and the scope/severity of their impact, and recommends potential resolutions.
  • Develops and maintains complex queries, spreadsheets, and reports (scheduled and ad hoc).
  • Collects data to inform operational and industry scorecards, highlighting key metrics, capacity, production and sales levels, and efficiency.
  • Provides day-to-day technical and operational support for appraisals and salvage programs.
  • Presents reports and findings of analyses to the leadership team in a clear and consistent manner.
  • Communicates and consults with end users to determine and document requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, service levels, data quality, and performance.
  • Liaises/consults with Corporate Claims Reporting, Claims Operations, Corporate Business Intelligence Services, Systems, industry association and/or vendors on the delivery of business system and process activities and to resolve complex issues.
  • Develops and maintains technical and descriptive documentation, manuals, and templates.
  • Supports the Accreditation/Preferred Partner Program(s), including the application process, annual self-declaration compliance, body shop accreditation levels, performance management plans, high performance partner program, and coordination of partner communications.
  • Supports the Audit Program, including preparing the monthly appraisal desk review package, file maintenance in GIS, audit communications, and processing of recoveries.
