About The Position

The Revenue Business Analyst plays an important role in delivering high quality revenue accounting software and various components of the other applications that impact on the revenue accounting area. This role oversees system maintenance and enhancement projects related to Finance and Revenue Operations functions. The analyst prepares test plans, executes tests, and evaluates new and existing revenue programs to identify and help remove bugs, glitches, and other user experience issues. The Revenue Business Analyst is expected to have solid analytical skills and high attention to detail, as well as to be proficient in test management software and processes. The role may work in conjunction with other teams within CCL Finance, Revenue, Hotel Operations, Marine Operations, Technical Operations, Guest Logistics, Groups, etc. to insure cohesiveness with corporate goals and initiatives. This individual works with IT, Decision Support, business users and any other departments as needed to support the development and implementation of new business practices. Success in this role will be demonstrated by providing quality work output, screening for errors, and refining usability throughout the software development and implementation process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Practical experience testing of enterprise size financial applications is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and planning skills.
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and balance requests at peak workloads (or change gears quickly for important requests) from various departments and upper management.
  • General knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components, SharePoint sites, and networks.
  • Must have strong command of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in business/financial planning and analysis processes with a working knowledge in accounting principles and issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Azure DevOps and/or alternative software development and testing tracking systems is preferred.
  • Experience in project management on software development projects, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, software developers and project support teams to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing and implementing systematic test plans.
  • Perform all testing activities related to revenue accounting software to ensure the scope of the projects is met and system defects are corrected prior to implementation.
  • Monitor project schedules and take ownership of the change management process.
  • Provide insights into the current functionality of the applications that are used by the Revenue Accounting and other Finance Departments as well as possible enhancements to these systems.
  • Participate in meetings to understand business requirements to enhance revenue accounting related systems.
  • Review, monitor, facilitate and organize revenue accounting system releases.
  • Support system implementations, enhancements, and migrations by validating requirements and assisting with UAT and defect resolution.
  • Ensure solutions meet business, regulatory, and operational requirements before production release.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis standards, documentation practices, and analytical frameworks.
  • Provide production support related to revenue accounting applications by analyzing system issues reported by business users. Open support cases using specialized software and monitor timely resolutions.
  • Partner with data and finance teams to reconcile transaction data, balances, and financial outputs across systems.
  • Interpret ‘user stories’ impacting Revenue Accounting and submit defects, maintenance and enhancement cases using specialized software.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into executive-ready narratives, clearly articulating the problem, options, recommended solution, and expected value.
  • Evaluate regulatory, operational, and technology risks and incorporate mitigations into business case recommendations.
  • Facilitate the data mining activities of the department and provide directions and support to identify system sources for the information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
