About The Position

As a Analyst Quality Engineer, you’ll be part of our Manufacturing Operations team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to fully support and comply with the SFS objectives and projects. You will assist Engineering in defining and maintaining all specs (Raw, in-process and Finished Goods), be responsible for communicating quality standards to manufacturing and quality auditors, and assist with the development of D&I&M FMEA for all processes. You will perform PPAPs SQA-015 Quality Book, define, establish, implement, train and monitor quality plans for incoming inspection, in process inspections, and finished goods inspections. This includes test equipment, gages, inspection procedures, frequency of inspections, forms, records, boundary samples, masters, and visual aids. You will be responsible for performing all measurement systems analysis (MSAs), coordinating and communicating all quality issues to appropriate personnel and assisting in establishing countermeasures, and managing day-to-day quality issues on the production floor. You will maintain the quality standards of parts produced in the area, to include: watching quality indicators as a measure of compliance with standards, instilling a quality-minded attitude in all department personnel, working with the Value Stream on specific problem areas, and paying attention to scrap/rework figures to identify quality problem areas. You will be responsible for maintaining IMDS, monitoring and developing supplier quality, leading sorting activities, disposition of suspect product, and improving First Pass-Defective Parts per Million and Scrap % metrics. You will drive root cause corrective action on identified issues (customer complaints, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, and management systems) and adhere to all ISO requirements. You will oversee ISO9000 paperwork to ensure it is correctly done and properly handled, to include: Process Guarantee Sheets, FSA audit Plans, and Gage Calibration. You will also assist in the management of departmental spending by monitoring spending reports to identify unfavorable variances and taking appropriate action where possible, and identify spending reduction opportunity areas. You will understand and follow the Jackson site’s environmental policy and the environmental impacts associated with your work activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; or Associate’s degree with technical focus; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years applicable experience.
Knowledge of gaging and inspection techniques, including GD&T.
Proficient in system/process improvement tools (SPC, FMEA, DOE, 8D, TQM, Lean, PPAP, etc.).
Demonstrates strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Demonstrates strong decision-making skills and ability.
