About The Position

Ensures the reliability, integrity, and performance of the Energy Management System by managing SCADA data, supporting real time operations, and maintaining system functionality across critical OT environments. This role enables informed operational decision making by analyzing data, resolving system issues, coordinating cross functional updates, and supporting disaster recovery and system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience performing similar functions and at least 3 years of experience performing a previous Analyst role.
  • 3 years of experience working with operating systems, networking, EMS, SCADA, or real‑time operations systems in a critical infrastructure environment.
  • Experience performing database updates, point modeling, and application configuration.
  • Experience working in 24/7 operational environments, including on‑call rotations.
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations and respond during emergencies.
  • Working knowledge of OT system interfaces, telemetry protocols, and substation integration concepts.
  • Strong understanding of EMS/SCADA systems, real‑time data acquisition, and OT network operations.
  • Ability to perform emergency system recovery and troubleshoot real‑time operational issues.
  • Familiarity with test environments, operator training simulators, and system synchronization.
  • Ability to analyze technical data to identify issues, trends, or gaps.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills for system failures.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees additions, removals, and modifications of SCADA points and single‑line diagrams to ensure accurate real‑time system representation.
  • Prepares and reviews technical documentation to support effective EMS Real‑Time Systems use and administration.
  • Performs emergency recovery and troubleshooting of EMS systems, applications, and interfaces to restore system health per change‑control procedures.
  • Assist Operations and other business units with acceptance testing of new or enhanced EMS applications to validate performance and functionality.
  • Responds to system failures and provides operator support on a 24/7 basis to maintain real‑time situational awareness.
  • Acts as an OT liaison to the System Control Center to coordinate change approvals and implementations for transmission system updates.
  • Oversees commissioning of new substations into the SCADA system to ensure accurate integration.
  • Ensures Test environments and Operator Training Simulator (OTS) databases remain updated and synchronized to support accurate training and validation.
  • Provides control room operator support on SCADA applications to maintain real‑time operational reliability.
  • Participates in a 24/7 rotational on‑call model to provide continuous system support.
  • Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.
  • Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.
  • Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.
