About The Position

ICE Futures U.S., Inc., a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. offers a full-time Analyst position within its Market Regulation team. ICE Futures U.S., Inc. is a U.S. derivatives exchange regulated by the CFTC. The Market Regulation Department is responsible for enforcing Exchange rules through market advisories, investigations, and disciplinary actions. The role involves investigating trading activity in derivatives markets to detect potential violations of Exchange rules and CFTC Regulations related to energy, agricultural, and financial futures and options traded on ICE Futures U.S. markets. The Analyst will also provide guidance to market participants. The ideal candidate is professional, proactive, analytical, collaborative, capable of creating efficient and innovative approaches to data gathering and analysis, and communicates clearly and concisely.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Math or Juris Doctorate
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Familiarity with futures markets, commodities and trading
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who can prioritize and meet deadline pressure
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high stress environment
  • Ability to communicate with market participants, federal regulators and executive management
  • Knowledge of futures exchange operations, trading, risk management or regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with data analytic tools is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop substantive knowledge of Exchange’s rules and CFTC regulations
  • Stay informed on relevant Federal regulations, policy and developments
  • Develop knowledge of commodity markets, particularly related to energy, financial & agricultural markets
  • Monitor the relation between cash commodity fundamentals and the futures market, particularly in energy and agricultural markets
  • Work with large, complex data sets
  • Research data from a variety of real time and post trade systems to identify abnormalities or potential rule violations
  • Document detailed analyses of trading activity
  • Conduct investigations of potential rule violations by obtaining testimony, compiling records and drafting investigative reports for presentation to disciplinary committees
  • Build relationships with market participants and provide guidance on Exchange rules
  • Improve common processes to find efficiencies
  • Collaborate with others on technology and systems to enhance operational processes
