About The Position

The Investor Operations & Reporting Analyst II will perform a wide range of duties. This position will work independently but under the guidance of the Investor Relations Supervisor. This role is responsible for providing exceptional service while performing loan support services including but not limited to, credit report modifications, payment adjustments, handling reporting needs and request including balancing, exception reports and custom queries and provides support to Mortgage Servicing including assistance with annual escrow analysis, tax payments and special report requests. This role also reviews, modifies, tests and implements system changes and updates for our core banking platform and supporting systems and works to improve relationships with investors by providing timely and accurate investor reporting, and investor loan maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field is preferred or an equivalent mix of education and or work experience specifically meeting the minimum essential duties is required.
  • 3-5 years of similar or closely related work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of internal controls and mortgage servicing is preferred.
  • Demonstrates success in training and mentoring team members.
  • Extensive knowledge of data manipulation and investor reporting with the ability to research, analyze, and review complex data.
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer software including Microsoft Office and Outlook programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively prioritizes tasks, organizes, negotiate, and make important decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of custom reports from the core database reporting system. These reports facilitate reconciliations, data validation, identify potential problems and proactively find solutions, ad hoc reporting, provide interpretative analysis and recommendations, and populate essential core system fields that are missing or invalid.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures, technical procedure or governmental regulations
  • Performs testing of enhancements and/or corrections to system, maintains updates to system utilized in department.
  • Reviews and verifies all processes are completed according to document specifications and regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviews credit report discrepancies for all mortgage loans including processing and confirming changes.
  • Maintains existing relationships with all 3rd Party Investors.
  • Supports the processing of all adjustments, re-codes, prepares and distributes required notifications.
  • Supports the processing of various entries such as Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) returned items, rejects, postings, clearing unallocated funds, correcting posting errors, paying off loans, and refunding excess payoff funds.
  • Monitors loans sold in Secondary Markets and re-codes loans sold.
  • Processes purchase advices, remittances, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Maintains the digital file interface between the loan processing system and the main core system.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reviewing system variables for core system upgrades, system patches, additional applications, new minors, new products, digital transformation, batch reporting variable creation which includes working directly with: vendors, other business units, IT, and project managers. This will also require: testing, validating, running scenarios, and final signoff.
  • Actively participates in the streamlining process for employees and various departments across TDECU. Responsibilities may include process: review, analysis, validation, implementing improvements, educating employees on the new process, and implementing process review controls.
  • Work across business units to improve monitoring, discovering issues, mitigating risk, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Works directly with Mortgage Servicing for the annual escrow analysis which includes testing, data validation, reporting, reviewing viewing previous day’s transactions and verifying system reports are accurate.
  • Completes special projects and maintains complex computer-based analysis and reports along with providing regular reports to management.
  • Regularly works with external vendors to integrate, maintain, update, and correct data discrepancies to eliminate risks to TDECU via errors and omissions.
  • Adhere to internal and external controls and provide support for audit and regulatory reviews.
  • Works directly with Mortgage Servicing on tax payments and 1098’s which may include: reporting, validation, SQL script codes for necessary system updates, and compliance monitoring for IRS upgrades or changes.
