About The Position

The Analyst II, IT - Leak Detection supports the planning, development, installation, and maintenance of Buckeye’s Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) system and related applications used in real-time pipeline operations. The role supports leak detection and batch tracking, helps ensure CPM models and alarm thresholds are correctly configured, and provides technical assistance to control center and field operations personnel. The position also supports pipeline and technology projects, maintains existing CPM hardware, completes and maintains required Operator Qualification training, and helps evaluate and apply new SCADA and leak-detection technologies. Rotational 24/7 on-call support is required. The role involves responding to emergencies, working under pressure and meeting deadlines, and maintaining cybersecurity awareness while working in the SCADA and leak-detection environment. Travel may be required up to 5% domestically and internationally.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Excellent analytical skills for resolving business and operations problems.
Good communication skills to consult with users and provide technical assistance.
Ability to respond immediately to emergencies, meet stringent deadlines, and work well under pressure.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and interact on numerous concepts.
Keen cybersecurity awareness and adherence to cybersecurity policies while working in the SCADA and leak-detection environment.
Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of experience with real-time control systems is desirable.
Knowledge of pipeline operations and procedures, computer hardware, network and communications configuration, personal computer applications, process control systems and applications, and operation of computer support facilities.

Responsibilities

Support periodic reviews of CPM models and alarm thresholds, following procedures and documenting work to ensure models are correctly configured and provide control center personnel with accurate information.
Support the Leak Detection and Batch Tracking system, including configuration, instrumentation and equipment recommendations, pipeline parameters, threshold evaluation, troubleshooting, training, and vendor contact.
Assist the Control Center and Field Operations in investigating credible leak indications.
Support pipeline projects involving leak detection and batch tracking, as well as internal SCADA and CPM software and hardware upgrades.
Maintain existing CPM hardware, including servers and workstations.
Complete and maintain Operator Qualification training for CPM system maintenance and other required training.
Attend industry conferences and trade shows to stay current on tools, technologies, and methods for SCADA and leak detection.
Support applying new technologies within the CPM system to meet organizational needs.
Provide rotational on-call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Perform other duties as assigned.
