The Global Mining team is a leading provider of investment banking services to existing and prospective metals & mining companies globally. The team’s coverage strategy spans North America, Europe, South America, Asia, and Australia. Our client-centric approach incorporates Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and other financial advisory services with access to the debt, equity and loan capital markets, as well as complex risk and hedging solutions. The Global Mining team manages a market leading platform from our offices in Toronto, Vancouver, London, Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore and Bogota. Clients across the world turn to CIBC’s Global Mining team for M&A advisory, debt and equity financing and lending products. We have led many of the industry’s largest gold and base metals equity transactions and have played integral lead strategic advisory roles to global mining companies in some of the largest industry defining merger and acquisition transactions. Our specialized global platform and subject matter expertise enables us to help our clients meet their goals, including those related to the global energy transition. With guidance from Managing Directors, Executive Directors, and Associates you will complete assignments that impact the firm's bottom line through the execution of M&A advisory and financing mandates, supporting client relationships and the Global Mining team’s origination efforts, and contributing to the overall communication flow across our global offices. The role provides you with steep learning opportunities and the ability to observe and influence the strategic direction of our clients’ businesses with exposure to company executives and board of directors. Analysts on the Global Mining team will be expected to provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to all the professionals within their group. Typically, Analysts are assigned to a variety of transactions and advisory projects, such as mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financings, and capital structure and strategic advisory projects, and must have strong prioritization and multi-tasking capabilities. You will also be expected to maintain an awareness of the strategic priorities of our clients and key developments and trends in the industry. Applying your strengths in quantitative analysis to create and direct complex financial analysis and models while extracting the “big picture” implications of such analysis will be critical to your success. The role of an Analyst is challenging and fast-paced. It requires dedication, passion for the industry and a very solid work ethic. You must be able to accept flexibility in required personal time commitments to complete work assignments. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time. The expected annualized base salary for this role is $105,000. The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles. In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program. We are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation opportunities for all employees and we encourage open conversations about compensation throughout the recruitment process.
