About The Position

The Finance Analyst plays a critical support role within MEI’s Debt Finance function, coordinating financing due diligence across MEI’s portfolio of renewable energy assets. This role is responsible for maintaining transaction data rooms, tracking lender and lender’s counsel requirements, and ensuring project information moves efficiently from collection through funding. Working cross-functionally with Development, Real Estate, Legal, Engineering, Construction, and Asset Management — as well as external parties such as surveyors, developers, contractors, and consultants — the Finance Analyst keeps financing workstreams organized, on schedule, and audit-ready. This is a highly cross-functional, process-oriented role suited to someone who is organized, detail-driven, and comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
0-2 years of relevant experience
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive; able to work independently and across functions with a high degree of flexibility and resourcefulness
Excellent organizational and communication skills; strong attention to detail and record-keeping

Nice To Haves

Coursework or experience in environmental science, public policy, finance, or commercial transactions preferred
Familiarity with cloud-based data rooms and diligence tracking tools preferred (e.g., SharePoint, Dropbox, Smartsheet)
Proficiency with AI platforms preferred (e.g., Claude, Copilot)
Prior experience or relevant coursework in finance, real estate, or transactional law preferred
Demonstrated interest in renewable energy financing transactions

Responsibilities

Prepare, populate, and maintain debt financing due diligence checklists for lender’s counsel review; track lender and lender’s counsel comments, questions, and diligence requests through resolution, coordinating required responses and curative actions.
Organize, upload, and maintain documents within transaction data rooms, ensuring proper indexing, version control, and completeness and integrity of project information across diligence trackers, data rooms, and financing submissions.
Evaluate, prepare, draft, and compile legal exhibits, certifications, schedules, and other deliverables required for debt financings.
Serve as a liaison between the Debt Finance team and internal stakeholders (Development, Real Estate, Legal, Engineering, Construction, Asset Management) and external parties (surveyors, developers, contractors, consultants), driving curative actions and closing out open diligence items.
Monitor and track the status of financing workstreams across the pipeline, and prepare regular status reports on diligence progress, outstanding items, and funding readiness.
