THE OPPORTUNITY As the Analyst, Unemployment Compliance, you will be responsible for responding to unemployment claims received and providing pertinent details regarding employee separations within the timeframe allowed by the appropriate state or internal procedures. You will also play a key role in supporting broader employment compliance efforts across the People Operations team, including employment eligibility monitoring, case resolution, and employee data management. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and possess the ability to meet tight deadlines. This role must become a subject matter expert in Chipotle’s policies and procedures that support unemployment processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Human Resources, Employment Compliance, Unemployment processing, or other related field required.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excel experience to include functions and formulas with the ability to create new reporting.
  • Strong time management and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated experience as a project team member.

Nice To Haves

  • Restaurant and/or retail experience highly desired.
  • Experience with Alteryx and/or Power BI preferred.
  • Experience with Kronos, Workday and ServiceNow (or other case management software) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to unemployment claims within required timeframes and provide all necessary supporting documentation.
  • Respond to state adjudicator calls and decisions, and serve as a liaison for unemployment hearings.
  • Coordinate the review and analysis of unemployment claims in partnership with a third-party vendor, handling highly confidential information with appropriate discretion.
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Provide a monthly team scorecard reporting on unemployment claims filed, claim status, and additional actions.
  • Support incoming inquiries regarding verification of employment, verification of income, and state audit requests.
  • Furnish unemployment-related information, as requested, by other teams across the organization.
  • Support other projects and initiatives related to compliance, employment eligibility, onboarding, and employee data management, as needed.
