About The Position

As part of the Chief Data Office (CDO) Data Shared Services team, the Analyst, Data Lineage & Control will be responsible for documenting all aspects of the data lineage lifecycle from the original source of the data to the point of consumption of the data into a report, including any associated data transformations. The role will maintain relationships with various business & IT stakeholders to understand & communicate details of data lineage.

Requirements

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in data management, data lineage capture, data analysis or any other related data programs
  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent in Finance, Data Analysis or other related programs
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Datameer, SQL, Python
  • Experience handling and deriving information from large data sets.
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and compliance
  • Experience with data governance and metadata management tools such as Collibra
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technology staff at different levels of seniority.

  • Graduate / post-graduate or professional designations or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy or Process / Productivity Improvements
  • Lean or Process Improvement Designations

Responsibilities

  • Understand and document the lineage of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) from originating source to point of consumption of data into a report or other risk management activity
  • Collaborate with other Data Management Offices, Data Custodians and Data Stewards to understand data lineage reporting standards and best practices.
  • Leverage data lineage artifacts captured by other Data Management Offices and share artifacts captured by Risk Data Management Office to avoid duplication of effort.
  • Identify & communicate options to optimize the process of data lineage capture and documentation.
  • Develop knowledge and become valuable team resource, supporting development of Data Lineage in general.
