About The Position

At Alto, we are actively contributing to the transformation of Canada's future with our high-speed train project connecting Quebec City and Toronto. With the support of the Government of Canada, this innovative project aims to improve the quality of life of our citizens, strengthen ties between communities and stimulate economic growth. As part of the Commercial team, and reporting to the Contract Manager, the Analyst, Contract Management, plays a crucial role in supporting Alto’s contract administration function, with a particular focus on the Pre-Development Agreement (Contract) that governs the Co-Development Phase. During this phase, Alto and Cadence, the preferred private developer partner, collaborate to advance the project design, engage in consultations with local communities, rightsholders, and stakeholders, and secure a positive Impact Assessment decision, among other activities. Key responsibilities include advising teams on contract interpretation, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions, and delivering analytical insights to enhance contract performance. This role thrives on collaboration, working closely with cross-functional teams to align strategies, resolve challenges, and unlock value. It also involves engaging with Cadence when needed to drive shared outcomes.

Requirements

  • Business Administration degree, Engineering, Law or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in contract administration on complex projects.
  • Strong organizational, document control, and record-keeping capabilities to ensure complete and auditable contract files.
  • Proven stakeholder management and collaboration skills across project teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage contractual obligations, support project delivery and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Implement and administer change management procedures, including identification, validation, negotiation, and documentation of change orders, variations, and claims.
  • Monitor contractor’s key performance indicators (KPI’s) and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Draft, issue, and manage contractual correspondence, including notices, change directives, and formal communications.
  • Review contractor payments, verify compliance with contractual terms, and ensure proper deductions and approvals.
  • Support identifying contractual risks and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and project requirements, working with internal stakeholders to mitigate risks.
  • Support evaluation of schedule impacts related to contractor’s performance and change events.
  • Conduct contract analysis to support team interactions with Cadence and future agreement strategies.
  • Develop dashboards, maintain logs, including correspondence and deliverables, and prepare reports and presentations to inform the leadership on contract-related activities.
