About The Position

This position is a key member of the Compliance & Environmental Levies team and plays a critical role in supporting global regulatory obligations related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), Scope 3 emissions reporting, and Trade Compliance baseline assessments across the Asia and AFMEAI regions. The role ensures operational continuity and risk mitigation at a time when regulatory reporting is increasing in complexity and automation initiatives are paused. The Analyst will support data collection, validation, reporting, regulatory monitoring, and analytics, restoring critical capability following the departure of analyst resources. The position interfaces with Supply Chain, Sustainability, Corporate Compliance, Legal, Procurement, Finance, Digital, regional business teams, and external partners such as Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs), consultants, and regulatory authorities. The dynamic nature of LyondellBasell requires individuals who can work accurately under time pressure, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and proactively identify and resolve data or compliance risks. Solves a range of straightforward to moderately complex compliance and data problems using established procedures and guidance. Receives limited guidance on achievement of overall assignment outcomes; works increasingly independently as competence grows. Influences practices or processes within the immediate work team through high-quality data analysis and reliable execution. Accountable for completing small to mid-sized reporting cycles, assessments, or analytics deliverables with manageable risks and timelines. Operates with a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to simplify data flows and enhance reporting accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–4 years of experience in compliance, sustainability reporting, data analytics, supply chain, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering compliance-critical work on time.
  • Good communication skills; able to work across regions and functions.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach; able to follow instructions and also take initiative when needed.
  • Excellent Excel skills; familiarity with data visualization tools beneficial.
  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple reporting cycles simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates integrity, reliability, and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or certification in Environmental Compliance, ESG, or Data Analytics is a plus.
  • Experience in EPR, ESG, Scope 3, or regulatory reporting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in SAP or ERP-based data environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support annual and quarterly EPR reporting obligations across EU and US jurisdictions, including data collection, cleansing, validation, and submission.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, maintain reporting calendars, and ensure timely execution of all compliance tasks.
  • Prepare data packages for PRO registrations, fee calculations, audits, and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain documentation, templates, and SOPs to ensure auditability and consistency across reporting cycles.
  • Support interaction with PROs, consultants, and authorities as needed.
  • Collect, consolidate, and validate Scope 3 emissions data (logistics, packaging, procurement, recycling, etc.).
  • Perform quality checks, trend analyses, and reconciliation of data discrepancies.
  • Support Sustainability in preparing reports for internal/external disclosures (e.g., annual climate reports, regulatory submissions).
  • Maintain evidence packages and audit trails for data assurance processes.
  • Support trade compliance baseline assessments: data gathering, process mapping, document reviews, and gap identification.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements; support preparation of internal summaries and briefings.
  • Assist in evaluating Trade Compliance risks, controls, and potential operating models.
  • Collaborate with the Trade Compliance team to ensure alignment with existing frameworks.
  • Build and maintain reporting templates, trackers, and analytics dashboards to support EPR, Scope 3, and Trade Compliance activities.
  • Extract and analyse/manipulate data from SAP and other systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide insights, summaries, and visualizations for leadership discussions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data processes and standardization efforts.
  • Coordinate with business partners across Supply Chain, Sustainability, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Digital.
  • Support internal stakeholders in resolving data gaps, clarifying reporting requirements, and improving data ownership.
  • Prepare presentations, status updates, and communications for management and project teams.
  • Support the maintenance of compliance documentation libraries, SOPs, and knowledge repositories.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation planning across EPR, Scope 3, and Trade Compliance domains.
  • Assist with execution of minor process changes or updates required due to legislation or internal policy shifts.
