About The Position

The candidate will work with senior members of our group and with the group’s clients to finance commercial mortgage loans on our commercial mortgage warehouse facilities. The role involves underwriting and due diligence of commercial properties and underlying mortgage loans, preparing and presenting approval memorandum for both advances against loans and the warehouse lines we provide to our clients. Additional responsibilities include supporting our middle office, Risk, and CLO functions with respect to our clients. The Analyst will work with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) officers and professionals, participating in client transactions, projects, or assignments as the junior member of the Investment Banking team. This role is responsible for organizing and analyzing sophisticated financial data for client proposals and strategic plans, preparing written recommendations, valuation materials, and statistical exhibits for pitches and live deals. The Analyst will also conduct economic/financial research, evaluate company’s financial performance, build complex financial models, and perform periodic loan surveillance. Ad hoc projects may include loan servicing, loan administration, future fundings, amendments/modifications/extensions, payoffs, documentation, etc. The role requires assessing risk and demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Requirements

  • BA/BS, preferably with a major in real estate, business, accounting or economics
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to multitask
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in evaluating financing transactions and structures
  • Experience creating financial analyses
  • Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience assisting with client development
  • Ability to work with teams and track business development (collect research, analyze industry trends)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business
