About The Position

The Analyst, Business Intelligence at XPO will partner with business stakeholders to identify reporting and analytics needs aligned with strategic objectives. This role involves conducting discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews to gather and document requirements, and translating business questions into technical specifications, KPIs, and data definitions. The analyst will act as the primary BI point of contact for assigned business domains, analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities, and perform exploratory data analysis and root cause investigations. They will deliver actionable insights and recommendations to improve business performance and apply statistical methods and analytical techniques where appropriate. Additionally, the role includes designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools, ensuring visualizations are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with best practices. The analyst will support self-service BI by enabling users with governed datasets and reusable dashboards, and will extract, transform, and analyze data from data warehouses and multiple sources using SQL and other querying tools. Data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems will be validated, and collaboration with data engineering teams on data pipelines, data models, and ETL processes will be key. The role also supports data governance initiatives, ensures compliance with data standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements, and identifies and resolves data quality issues. Finally, the analyst will evaluate internal and external data products for innovation and efficiency, participate in the product development lifecycle, and recommend enhancements to BI tools, data architecture, and reporting frameworks. Communication and executive reporting involve presenting findings and recommendations to leadership, translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly language, and preparing executive-level summaries, scorecards, and performance reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 1 or more years of experience in business intelligence and data analytics

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., star schema, dimensional modeling)
  • Experience across the full BI lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance)
  • Proficiency in BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar)
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Familiarity with Python or R is a plus
  • Experience with data warehouses (e.g., Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, Azure Synapse)
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline concepts
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with LLMs (Gemini, Claude)

  • Prepare executive-level summaries, scorecards, and performance reports
