About The Position

Primary Purpose: Coordinate the administration of all employee benefit programs to include training, eligibility, and enrollment of employees, management of clerical staff and employee benefits vendor management.

Requirements

  • College hours, high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work within deadlines and handle interruptions
  • Thorough understanding of insurance terminology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of file management system
  • Expertise with calculator and personal computer
  • Work with confidential material
  • Ability to organize and work with other departments

  • Ability to supervise others

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and management of overall administration and issue resolution including: Medical Pharmacy Supplemental Benefits Health Savings Accounts
  • Work with vendors to address issues and bring successful conclusions.
  • Ensure premium reconciliatios are completed and reviewed on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration.
  • Coordinate open enrollment for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update plan documents as necessary.
  • Coordinate the direct bill process and manage collection process.
  • Make certain that all QMESCO activity is current.
  • Work with HR and Payroll to ensure premiums are appropriate and timely.
  • Assist in the communication effort of the health plan to staff.
  • Act as a liaison for employee claim and premium issues.
  • Actively participate in new employee orientation.
  • Develop relationships with stake holders in the District.
  • Ensure compliance with the ACA and other regulatory agencies.
