About The Position

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Benefits Analyst in our Human Resources (HR) Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to: • Providing a broad range of benefit analysis and support for assigned sworn and professional staff employees to include comprehensive retirement counseling, consulting on deferred compensation plan and voluntary defined contribution plan options, processing short- and long-term disability and workers’ compensation claims and reviewing enrollment forms and supporting documentation and keying new health insurance enrollments and qualifying mid-year events. • Coordinating service, retirement and long-term disability awards and certificates. • Reconciling monthly reports.   • Experience in administering workers’ compensation; short- and long-term disability; health benefits; flexible spending accounts; retirement programs; deferred compensation; life insurance; Family and Medical Leave Act; and other employee benefits programs required.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Training and experience in Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Cardinal HCM or Oracle PeopleSoft HCM; administering State benefits programs to include multiple Virginia Retirement System plans for sworn and professional staff employees; Virginia Sickness and Disability Program; and several health insurance plans preferred.
  • Human resources or benefits certification (PHR; SHRM-CP; CEBS) preferred.
