About The Position

As an Analyst on our Benefits team, you will be responsible for assisting the Benefit Consultants with all client management requirements, with a focus on retention of the assigned book of business and support with business development activities. Our Health and Group Benefits division provides a full range of consulting services to large, mid-size and small clients. These services include but are not limited to providing: Solutions encompassing creative plan design, vendor evaluation and management; Pricing and funding strategies; Compliance and governance strategies; Due diligence of group health plans; Benchmarking analysis; Redesign of group benefits plan to realign with client’s benefit philosophy; Assistance for global clients with Canadian operations; Act as intermediary between clients and insurers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in consulting or group benefits insurance
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Attention to detail and quality
Effective time management and organizational skills
Excellent technical skills working with Microsoft 365, particularly MS Excel (including VBA)

Nice To Haves

Valid group insurance license
Achievement of ASA / ACIA designation of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) / Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA)

Responsibilities

Perform financial analysis of insurance data and cost modeling
Prepare financial analysis reports and presentations communicating key results to clients
Maintain strong relationships and participate in negotiations with insurers and partners
Respond to inquiries from clients and insurers
Participate in calls and presentations with clients, as appropriate
Help in developing strategic recommendations for clients and participate in the development of new business
Take the initiative in the development of internal processes and tools
Manage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables
Assist in keeping the internal database and tracker up-to-date
Participate in the review and validation of the work done by colleagues and other team members
Play a proactive role in establishing and maintaining best practices
Maintain and develop internal technical knowledge
Participate in the training of new colleagues and junior team members
Develop and promote our company as a key player in the market with excellent knowledge of the industry
Other miscellaneous duties and special projects as required
