About The Position

As an Analog Design Lead for Undersea Mission Solutions, you’ll lead a cross functional team responsible for developing complex undersea communication systems. This includes leading teams, guiding junior engineers, leading design reviews and ensuring the performance and reliability of our undersea systems. Key responsibilities involve circuit design, simulation, prototyping, and collaboration with cross-functional technology teams. You will lead an Analog design team with product ownership and responsibility from initial concept definition through release to manufacturing. You will direct, guide and participate in activities responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components, integrated circuits for a variety of subsea applications. You will guide and mentor junior engineers in best practices for analog design, testing methodologies, and problem-solving. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system specifications and translate them into actionable designs. You will manage team assignments, provide design guidance as needed, develop schedules, and monitor project progress. You will evaluate intermediate and final results of projects during the design phase to ensure accomplishment of technical objectives. You will conduct thorough simulations and analyses to validate designs using tools like SPICE and Cadence. You will support production and test engineering teams during product transfer to manufacturing. You will interface with customers to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, and provide support. You will prepare product briefs, datasheets, and application notes. You will contribute to roadmap formulation and the development of new product concepts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Deep understanding of analog circuit design principles and experience with various circuit topologies.
  • Proficiency in using CAD tools like Mentor Graphics or Altium and SPICE for circuit simulation and verification.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage projects effectively to meet deadlines and achieve technical objectives.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components
  • The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design

Nice To Haves

  • Leading the design, development, and testing of analog and High Voltage electronic systems and components.
  • High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design experience is desirable. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
  • High voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics and HVDC technology is desirable.
  • Magnetics Design and High Speed Design experience are desirable
  • Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
