RTX seeks a Field Service Engineer to perform system‑level testing, troubleshooting, and repair of CSP/AAS‑53 and AN/ZSQ‑2 electro‑optical systems to ensure full functionality and mission readiness.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with system‑level testing, fault isolation, root‑cause analysis, and repair methodologies.
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using General Purpose Electrical/Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE), optical test equipment, and related diagnostic tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with CSP/AAS‑53, AN/ZSQ‑2, or similar electro‑optical or sensor‑based systems.
  • Recent avionics experience on US Army MH-60 and/or MH-47 airframes using Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) to interface with and operate aircraft mission systems.
  • Familiarity with the operation of motorized vehicles around rotary wing aircraft and on active flight lines.
  • Knowledge of US Army maintenance procedures, standards, and reporting practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a technical team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to document maintenance activities accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze system failures to identify root causes and develop effective corrective actions that prevent recurrence and support long‑term system reliability.
  • Inspect, test, and align AN/ZSQ‑2 electro‑optical systems to ensure compliance with required technical specifications and performance standards.
  • Utilize schematics, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications to diagnose faults and execute accurate, timely repairs.
  • Employ General Purpose Electrical/Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) and specialized tools to perform detailed system diagnostics and component‑level troubleshooting.
  • Document maintenance actions, test results, and corrective measures in accordance with established processes and reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to maintenance teams, operators, and stakeholders as needed.
  • Lift up to 65 lbs.
