About The Position

The Aftermarket Apprentice Program (AAP) is designed to offer selected individuals the chance to gain essential skills for supporting customers post-product delivery. This program combines practical work experience, on-the-job training, and formal classroom instruction, ultimately aiming to develop skilled employees for G&W. The program is overseen by an AAP Oversight Committee, comprising various G&W leadership roles, responsible for program administration, applicant selection, setting performance standards, determining training needs, and evaluating apprentice progress. The program lasts for one year, with a significant portion dedicated to on-the-job training in work cells, supplemented by training, assisting field service teams, product support specialists, and the RGA team. Upon completion, apprentices will return to their original work cells and be available for AMS field service on-call duties.

Requirements

  • Current G&W employees with more than one year of tenure.
  • No performance or attendance issues.
  • No formal disciplinary action within the prior 6 months.
  • Applications must be done online in Clear Company, including an attached resume.
  • A grade of 'C' or better in all course work is required.
  • Attendance is required at all classes as dictated by the course syllabus.
  • Apprentices need to be able to work all shifts for field service with proper notice.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers after product delivery.
  • Combine work experience, on-the-job training, and classroom instruction.
  • Perform to the best of their ability the work of an aftermarket technician and other pertinent responsibilities as assigned by G&W.
  • Respect G&W’s property/tools and abide by all rules and policies.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete the required classroom hours and in related instruction in subjects required of the program.
  • Maintain and make available records of work experience and training received on the job and in related instruction.
  • Be available for AMS field service on-call duties after program completion.
