About The Position

GE Vernova's Greenville facility is not only GE's largest gas turbine manufacturing site, but also home to the development and industrialization of technologies for turbine service and repair. The AMRT Process Development Engineer will be instrumental in creating, industrializing, and supporting robotics and automation processes and systems. The Intern will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) applications. These applications are designed to support efficient engineering development through real-time feedback mechanisms. The deliverables will encompass versatile solutions that can be applied, expanded, and scaled across a variety of engineering solutions. Wherever feasible, these solutions will include comprehensive testing, implementation, and thorough documentation.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Masters degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0.
  • Programming: adheres to software development best practices.
  • Robotics: Knowledgeable in robotic systems, sensors, and control algorithms.
  • Automation: capable of implementing automated processes.
  • Process Development: Skilled in developing and optimizing workflows using Lean methodologies.
  • Testing and Validation: Proficient in creating and executing comprehensive test plans
  • Documentation: Strong skills in producing clear and detailed technical documentation
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Collaboration: Effective teamwork and communication skills
  • Project Management: capable of managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of robot operations, sensors, servo systems and motion control systems
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and AI Tools
  • Knowledge of process technology such as: Machining, Robotics, Automation, Joining, Coating, and Inspection technologies
  • Experience with experimentation and root cause analysis
  • Good project management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects
  • Ability to learn, share and train all levels of personnel in newly developed processes
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with hands-on creation, manufacturing, engineering lab, and quality systems
  • Product knowledge of gas turbines / turbo machinery is a plus
