We are seeking a motivated intern to support research and analysis on Scope 3, Category 11 (“Use of Sold Products”) decarbonization strategies. This role will explore how emerging technologies (such as CCUS retrofits), evolving policy frameworks, and improved emissions accounting methodologies can enable GE Vernova’s long-term Net Zero 2050 commitments. Internship Outcomes A comprehensive research report summarizing: 1. Key global Category 11 decarbonization strategies that GE Vernova can explore to support our Net Zero goals. 2. Policy and market mechanisms relevant to CCUS and insetting. 3. Gaps and opportunities in emissions accounting methodologies. 4. Clear recommendations for GE Vernova’s Category 11 decarbonization framework and future engagement with standard-setting bodies (GHG Protocol, SBTi, ISO, etc.). 5. Contribution to internal knowledge base on long-term Net Zero alignment. Primary Skills Developed: 1. Expertise in Scope 3 carbon accounting and product life-cycle analysis (LCA). 2. Decarbonization solutions and technologies for Scope 3, especially Category 11. 3. Understanding of CCUS and low-carbon technology policy. 4. Knowledge of international climate frameworks (Paris Agreement, Article 6, SBTi). 5. Research synthesis, policy analysis, and technical writing. 6. Exposure to corporate sustainability strategy and carbon market design.
