About The Position

The AMR Accountant supports accounting activities for the United States and other general ledger activities, focusing on income statement and balance sheet accounts not managed by Global Shared Services. The role prepares monthly close journal entries related to payroll, prepaid expenses, and accrued expenses, and supports analysis of monthly balances and variances. It operates within a strong internal control framework, executing and documenting key controls to meet management and audit requirements. The accountant partners with Americas Operational and Finance teams to provide timely, accurate, and reliable reporting of operational results.

Responsibilities include supporting month-end close for US, Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, and other miscellaneous entities supporting AMR operations; maintaining internal controls; processing cash receipts; preparing fuel cost reports and account reconciliations; supporting financial reviews, audits, and documentation; and preparing ad hoc schedules and analyses. The position works closely with the AMR Senior Accountant, Bristow Global Shared Services, Treasury, customer billing, and team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and standard accounting practices.
• Experience supporting or participating in team-based and cross-functional projects.
• Proven experience using ERP systems for general ledger accounting.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate and summarize information for audiences with varying backgrounds and organizational levels, including external stakeholders.
• Analytical and investigative skills, with persistence to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Strong computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills such as formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Ability to leverage automation and AI-enabled tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to enhance analysis, documentation, and process efficiency.
• Willingness to assist or mentor team members as required.
• Ability to manage priorities, focus on key issues, meet deadlines, and work well in team environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close tasks for US, Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, and other miscellaneous entities supporting AMR operations.
• Support the AMR Senior Accountant and related Bristow business processes while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Apply daily cash receipts to keep accounts receivable aging current; investigate and resolve unidentified deposits with Treasury and customer billing contracts.
• Prepare and distribute the monthly Average Fuel Cost report to operational and finance stakeholders across the Americas.
• Communicate with Bristow Global Shared Services regarding AMR Inventory, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, and Long-Term Leases as required.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet account reconciliations, primarily covering Cash, AR, Prepaids, and Accrued Costs; identify discrepancies and work to resolve differences.
• Assist with monthly balance sheet and income statement reviews, including researching and explaining balance sheet and profit-and-loss account variances.
• Perform assigned SOX controls critical to the close process to ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining internal process documentation.
• Support quarterly external and internal audit requests and other miscellaneous audit efforts for the Americas region.
• Work with team members to help achieve a timely monthly close.
• Prepare ad hoc schedules, analyses, and reports as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
