About The Position

Community Servings' mission is to actively engage the community to provide medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals and medically tailored groceries to chronically and critically ill individuals and their families. In addition, we are committed to prioritizing racial and economic justice and health equity in all our programs and business practices. We are a dynamic and fast-growing agency at the forefront of the "Food is Medicine" field, providing over 1M medically tailored meals annually to clients and their families experiencing illness and food insecurity in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition, our work strongly focuses on supporting the regional local food system, delivering high-quality nutrition education to the community, and hosting an on-site food-service workforce development program. Over the past 36 years, the agency has provided 15M+ free, scratch-made meals. The AMPL Institute (Access to Medically Tailored Nutrition Through Policy and Leadership) is where excellence in providing medically tailored nutrition meets pioneering research, policy work, and provider education. AMPL’s mission is to transform the healthcare system so that medically tailored nutrition becomes a universally accessible standard of comprehensive, person-centered care. The AMPL Education Specialist & Program Coordinator supports the Manager of Education in delivering the culinary medicine curriculum across partner institutions and manages administrative functions related to AMPL’s research, policy, and education initiatives.

Requirements

Effective customer service, interpersonal and written communication skills, as an individual and a team member.
Computer proficiency including project management software, such as Monday.com, Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.), and Zoom
Able to organize work, complete tasks efficiently and independently with attention to detail, meet deadlines for multiple tasks and inquiries.
Research knowledge with ability to understand and implement procedures/protocols.
Able to use judgment and solve problems; assess research literature and quality improvement parameters.
Undergraduate degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Policy, or related field.
At least one year experience in research/project management, budget management, and/or nutrition education.
Experience in developing and teaching educational programs related to food and nutrition.

Bilingual in Spanish recommended, but not required
Interest in food and cooking.

Responsibilities

Works closely with the Manager of Education to plan and implement the culinary medicine program across partner institutions and platforms.
Provides administrative support for AMPL research studies, such as: Budget coordination and subcontract development and renewal. Maintaining inventory of AMPL research supplies, including distribution of participant workbooks. Assisting with management of medically tailored grocery box program research study.
Manages administrative details of FIMC (Food is Medicine Coalition) Accelerator program, including participant onboarding, leadership team scheduling, and coordination of on-site trainings at Community Servings.
Manages quarterly FIMMA (Food is Medicine Massachusetts) coalition and taskforce meeting invitations and inquiries,and supports promotion and invitation tracking for technical assistance webinars.
Coordinates regular AMPL events and legislative staff visits, as needed.
Collaborates closely with research, policy, and education team members to streamline processes and implement innovative solutions to increase efficiency.
Maintains strong and effective working relationships with co-workers and external partners.
Participates in continuing education activities and learning on an ongoing basis.
Complete other tasks as assigned.
