About The Position

Family owned and operated for over 75 years, Pictsweet is a frozen vegetable producer with agricultural roots. We are recruiting for an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician at Picsweet's Clarksville, AR facility. The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of ammonia-based refrigeration systems that are crucial for production, processing, and storage operations. This is a safety sensitive position. The position demands a unique blend of technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and rigorous adherence to safety protocols for the production of quality food products manufactured under clean and safe conditions.

Requirements

In-depth knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
Previous experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in refrigeration maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Applicable knowledge in industry safety standards and regulations.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency with refrigeration control and monitoring systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Physical ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions.
Ability to conform to scheduling requirements, possibility of working rotating shifts and be on-call, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Capacity for physical labor in outdoor weather conditions, non-climate-controlled areas, and/or a 38-degree environment.
Requires ability to maintain high level of alertness and concentration while performing safety-sensitive task.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree or relevant technical training program in Refrigeration/Mechanical/HVAC systems preferred, but not required.
Completion of relevant technical certification, RETA Certification (CARO/CIRO/CRST) preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with government agencies and internal standards including, but not limited to FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HARPC, GMPs, Housekeeping, Allergen Segregation, etc.
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure system efficiency and safety.
Identify and troubleshoot issues in refrigeration systems.
Operate and monitor refrigeration control systems.
Assist in the installation of new refrigeration equipment.
Conduct periodic system performance tests.
Collaborate with other technicians and team members to address and resolve system issues.
Respond promptly to emergency calls and repair requests.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Maintain facility equipment to minimize operational downtime.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
Assist with maintenance shop cleanliness, general cleanup, mobile equipment operations, maintenance to building and grounds, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
