As an Engineering & Facilities Ammonia Refrigeration Manager, you will enable high performance of the supply chain facility by fostering a reliability-centered maintenance culture within your team that ensures high equipment availability and success for the operation of the supply chain facility. This role oversees a single site food distribution center, serving as a technical subject matter expert that can lead recovery efforts and provide effective troubleshooting during equipment downtime events as well as ensuring compliance with federal, state and local agencies. The manager will also be responsible for the leadership and development, coaching and performance management of the ammonia technicians, including providing constructive and critical feedback on work quality, administering performance management and reviews, and overseeing onboarding and training for new hires. The role requires maintaining expertise across all electrical, mechanical, and control system communication aspects of refrigeration systems, seeking proactive solutions to reduce unplanned downtime, managing multiple projects, and providing technical leadership and mentoring. Additionally, the manager will conduct technical interviews, act as the first level escalation support for system problems/alarms, manage maintenance contractors and third-party vendors, coordinate with the PSM coordinator, ensure timely completion and documentation of work orders, and maintain knowledge of safety procedures and PPE usage.
