About The Position

Emerald Youth Foundation has multiple paid positions available in their JustLead afterschool programs across the city of Knoxville, TN for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This is a great opportunity to make a big difference in your life and in the lives of those around you. It’s a chance to apply your skills and ideals toward helping others and meeting critical needs in the community - Knoxville. It is not employment, but national service. Positions start as early as August 3, 2026 until full. Anticipated end date is either April 30, 2027 or May 7, 2027. Candidates selected and available to start on time (early August) for these positions would begin as hourly paid ($14/hour) employees and then change over formally to the title of AmeriCorps and begin receiving all applicable benefits mentioned above around August 17th once AmeriCorps funding is officially awarded. The hourly rate will cease once the change from employee to AmeriCorps happens. Emerald Youth is a Christian ministry serving city kids since 1991. Every year, Emerald Youth serves more than 3,000 children, teens, and young adults in the heart of Knoxville through faith, learning, and health programs. Emerald Youth's AmeriCorps members serve in the afterschool and summer programs of JustLead.

Requirements

• Ideal availability is between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
• Three Different References are Needed!
• At least 2 of your references should be professional and 1 should be a personal/character reference.
• A total of 3 different reference forms (completed by 3 different individuals) should be returned via the provided online link.
• References CANNOT be family members.
• Must sign and adhere to the Emerald Youth Agreement of Personal Standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead varying structured learning and enrichment activities afterschool with elementary and/or middle school students.
• Facilitate components of and implement incentives for elementary and middle school students as part of the on-site afterschool computer learning lab.
• Plan and implement structured health and recreational activities for both elementary and middle school students as part of the afterschool program.
