About The Position
AmeriCorps College Success Coach at Saint Cloud State University. This is a one-year position, renewable for a second year, from September 2026 to August 2027. The role is in-person, full-time, Monday-Friday during traditional school hours. The position offers a living allowance of $23,000, paid bi-weekly, and a Segal Education Award valued at $7,395 upon successful completion of the service term. Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage are provided at no monthly cost. College Possible believes talent is universal and supports students on their journey to higher education through personalized coaching, resources, and guidance. The organization is dedicated to making college access and success a reality, helping students navigate admissions, overcome challenges, and earn their degrees. College Possible Coaches come from diverse backgrounds and serve as college access and success mentors, developing leadership skills, participating in professional development, and gaining public speaking experience.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Obtained a bachelor's degree in the past five years.
- Do not exceed the age of 32 by August 2026.
- Have not served more than two full-time AmeriCorps State and National terms.
- Must clear a National Service Criminal History Check and all other security set forth by College Possible and the school district before the start of training.
Responsibilities
- Contact assigned collegians once per month by phone, email, or text.
- Hold 1:1 coaching sessions to address specific needs and troubleshoot problems.
- Provide students support in areas including new student orientation, course registration, financial aid/FAFSA issues, career development, and other miscellaneous issues.
- Provide referrals, arrange meetings, and accompany students to appointments as necessary.
- Provide extended support and create personalized action plans for students in "red flag" situations, including loss of financial aid, family crises, academic warning, etc.
- Network and collaborate with university staff within academic advising, financial aid, and student support offices.
- Organize and maintain up-to-date student information on student progress including milestones and deliverables in databases.
- Monitor success program statistics and produce reports as needed.
- Submit weekly timesheets, periodic reports (i.e., monthly reports, self-evaluations, and supervisor evaluations), and other service-related documentation as required.
- Attend required training, programmatic and community service events.
