About The Position

Garrett Advancing Motion is a global leader in automotive powertrain technologies with over 60 years of experience. We supply technology to nearly all major automakers and the global aftermarket. As the Americas Program Management Leader, you will lead the North America program management team responsible for multiple projects across various customers and geographical regions. These projects include application development, modifications, pre-development, capacity increases, cost reduction (VA/VE), and resourcing (HLRR).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Business, with University degree or Post graduation with Engineering or Business Degree (preferably in turbochargers or relative technology)
  • Program Management experience (5-8 years, preferably with PMP/PMI Certification) or relevant experience in a similar function
  • Product management or Commercial experience, preferably in Automotive environment
  • Good insight in financial drivers, at ease with relevant financial metrics
  • Strategy and Marketing Planning (STRAP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP) experience
  • IT (Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP etc.)

  • Customer facing program management or commercial experience (5-8 years) leading multiple projects to successful completion

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Program Management team and oversee their responsibilities.
  • Initiate and create project scope definitions, including planning, resource allocation, financial summaries, technical information, manufacturing, and supplier strategy for new applications.
  • Develop detailed project plans using the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) of the NPI process with allocated resources and deliverables.
  • Align timing plans with key customer engine development and linked base product development milestones, ensuring cross-functional alignment and critical path identification.
  • Regularly maintain project plans with accurate data and escalate any deviations to the customer and key stakeholders.
  • Deliver projects according to scope, cost, quality, timing, resources, and deliverables, in line with organizational strategy.
  • Implement and drive a robust review mechanism with stakeholders for successful plan execution.
  • Manage deviations to the baseline by following the NPI change management process to identify and drive mitigation actions.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and seek feedback on launch performance.
  • Assess and identify risks (technical, manufacturing, supplier, business/cost, baseline).
  • Anticipate risks in planning.
  • Mitigate risks through action plans and execution, escalating to leadership when required.
  • Plan, secure, and control product cost evolution through development (BOM cost).
  • Plan, secure, and control project budget and resource expenses (RD&E, CAPEX), including customer funding.
  • Delegate efficiently to team members and stakeholders, holding them accountable for agreed targets.
  • Resolve conflicts between project stakeholders using cross-functional reviews.
  • Motivate the team to adhere to the agreed plan and deliver per target.
  • Influence decisions to achieve positive project completion outcomes.
  • Coach and lead by example the project team across cultures and geographical regions.
  • Report accurate forecasts of the project portfolio, monitor implementation, and escalate deviations on budget, deliverables, and resources to the Leadership team.
  • Lead regular project reviews with stakeholders, including Project Review Meetings, Escalation meetings, and Deep dive reviews.
  • Prepare and present formal status reports to relevant committees and obtain approval at key project Phase Gate exit reviews.
  • Authorize sourcing and manufacturing activities (tooling launch and source selection go-ahead).
  • Listen to stakeholders’ needs and address concerns.
  • Tailor communication to the audience.
  • Manage talent within the PM team, ensuring balanced workload and optimization for NPI, VE/Resourcing, and current production support.
  • Provide coaching and development through 1-to-1s and mentoring, removing roadblocks for PMs.
  • Drive mid-year and full-year performance review processes and block ratings evaluation.
  • Lead hiring activities to ensure alignment with Garrett culture and performance expectations.
