About The Position

We are seeking an experienced journalist based on the West Coast for Reuters Live Pages. Live Pages are a direct-to-consumer scrolling multimedia feed of text, video, pictures, graphics, and social media in a mobile-first presentation for the biggest stories of the day. As Americas Live Pages Editor you will coordinate with reporters around the world to cover the biggest stories - political, business, entertainment and general news, wherever they occur, and be prepared to pivot quickly as news breaks. You will bring ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to a versatile cross-discipline team and relish the challenge of helping grow Live Coverage as a core part of the Reuters newsroom. You will use a diverse mix of storytelling formats, including photos, videos, graphics, social media posts and podcasts as well as text. You will ensure our pages are engaging and conversational but authoritative, accurate and impartial, taking care with presentation to make sure they look polished on both desktop and mobile. You will work closely with the digital team and bureaus to plan for future Live Pages and prepare material for them. You will use audience insights and performance data to inform daily decisions. You will manage Live Pages that began in other regions during their dayside hours as well as launching new Live Pages for events that occur within the dayside hours of the Americas, before handing over to the Asia-based team when they start their day. You will be a team player who is prepared to share your own skillsets and acquire those of others, while helping coach and develop more junior team members.
